The focus of the Forest Geomatics group is to use Earth observation data to map Canada’s forests.

The Forest Geomatics group characterizes Canada’s forests using a range of earth-observing technologies and spatial data in support of national programs to ensure the sustainability of Canada’s forests and the competitiveness of Canada’s forest sector.
